Adult Sites Use Distributed Networks, Hindering Blocking

Porn sites rely on global CDNs, making removal of content hard.

by Ren · 1 min read

Adult websites such as Pornhub 1, XVideos 2, XNXX 3, YouPorn 4, and EroMe 5 host search results for terms like “sundress fuck.” These platforms use sophisticated content‑delivery networks (CDNs) to distribute high‑resolution video streams worldwide, often caching popular videos on servers located around the world for faster access and reduced latency. This architecture makes it difficult to effectively block or remove all such material because the content is distributed across multiple jurisdictions with varying censorship laws. In addition, adult sites employ explicit keywords such as “fuck” in search terms to attract users seeking specific types of entertainment while simultaneously exploiting loopholes within algorithmic filtering systems designed primarily to detect more overt illegal activities—a strategy that has proven remarkably resilient despite ongoing efforts from law enforcement agencies worldwide since at least 2015 when similar tactics were observed against child exploitation materials hosted outside US jurisdiction.
